Search entries
A name, location, or other term entered in a third-party search tool is transmitted to the provider that operates that tool. Russell County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you send an email or contact submission, the message and reply details may be kept long enough to respond and manage the exchange. A message is not shared outside the organization unless a valid legal duty requires disclosure.
Automatic Technical Data
Ordinary server, analytics, and advertising systems may record technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- The referring page, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage may help measure use, remember settings, or support advertising. A browser can reject or remove cookies, though some site functions may then work differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected information supports site operation and service delivery. Uses may include:

Other Websites
Links can lead to the Russell County Sheriff's Office, Kansas courts, KDOC, federal systems, public-record resources, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of data.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to observe activity across websites and select ads. That tracking occurs within the provider's systems, not as a Russell County government function.

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be handled by:

Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under our control. No website, network, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed secure. This notice does not promise that a breach or unauthorized access can never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use Contact Us to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal data held about them
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete eligible personal data
- Opt out of certain processing where that right applies
